ISCA 2002 Excursion
The ISCA 2002 excursion departs the Anchorage Hilton by motorcoach to
the unique town of Whittier. Sights along this scenic drive include the
Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet, the Kenai Mountains, and Portage Valley.
Dall sheep and bald eagles are often spotted on the drive. Whittier is
located in the Prince William Sound just past the Whittier tunnel, the
longest highway tunnel in North America. In Whittier, participants
will board a cruise ship and depart on a 2 1/2 hour cruise to visit the
Blackstone, Northland, and Beloit Glaciers. Wildlife that may be
spotted in the Sound includes whales, seals, porpoises, sea otters, and
many migratory birds. Dinner will be served at the glacier's face
before returning to port in Whittier and driving back to Anchorage.
